MeVo Privacy Policy

MeVo ("the app") is built by ALICE HOME TECHNOLOGIES INC ("we", "us"). We designed MeVo to keep your personal thoughts private. This policy explains what data the app handles and the choices you control.

Data stored on your device

By default, everything you capture — voice recordings' transcribed text, typed notes, food and diet logs, and your settings — is stored locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We do not operate a central account system, and we do not collect this content on our servers.

"Private" captures never leave your device

Any capture you mark as private is excluded from all cloud features below — it is never uploaded, transcribed off‑device, categorized by AI, or scheduled. It remains on your device only.

Your consent before anything leaves your device

MeVo runs fully on your device by default. Before any capture is sent off your device, MeVo asks for your explicit permission with an in‑app screen that states exactly what is sent and to whom. Until you agree, no capture is transcribed off‑device, categorized, or analyzed by AI. You can turn this off again at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI; MeVo then returns to on‑device‑only operation.

When you enable it, the data sent is limited to the text (and, for voice notes, the audio) of your non‑private captures, and only at the moment a feature runs. We require any third party that receives this data to provide the same or equal protection of it; it is never used for advertising and never sold.

Optional features you turn on

Transcription & AI categorization: If enabled, non‑private capture audio/text may be sent to a transcription and categorization service — by default MeVo's own server (hosted at hay.lasmarthometech.com, operated by ALICE HOME TECHNOLOGIES INC) — solely to convert speech to text and suggest a category, then returned to your device.
AI analysis & reports (optional): If you add an API key for an AI provider — for example Google Gemini (Google LLC), or another provider you choose such as OpenAI or Anthropic — in Settings, non‑private text is sent to that provider, under your own account and their terms, only when you use AI features (meal parsing, coach reports, etc.). Review your chosen provider's privacy policy for how they handle it.
Google Drive backup (optional): If you connect Google Drive, non‑private captures are backed up to your own Google account. We do not have access to your Drive. Disconnect any time in Settings.
Calendar & Reminders (optional): If you grant access, MeVo adds events/reminders you create to your device's calendar and reminders (which may sync to your Google/iCloud accounts via your phone's settings). MeVo does not read your existing events for any other purpose.
Notifications (optional): Local reminder notifications are scheduled on your device; no data leaves the device for this.

Permissions

MeVo may ask for Microphone and Speech Recognition (to capture and transcribe your voice), and Calendars, Reminders, and Notifications (for the Act features). Each is optional and used only for the feature you invoke.

What we do NOT do

No advertising and no ad tracking.
No selling or renting of your data.
No third‑party analytics SDKs collecting your captures.

Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Delete individual captures in the app, or delete the app to remove its local data. If you used Google Drive backup, remove the backed‑up files from your own Drive.

Children

MeVo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
